Letter Feb. 8, 2011

Dearest Family,
Here it is just another week flying by. This week is transfers also. I am staying where I am at with my same companion though. Another month and a half of an awesome companion. So it is with my deepest regrets to tell you that they are no pictures this week. I am sorry.
Most of you have probably heard about the fighting between Cambodia and Thailand. I am hearing that there are deaths on both sides. It is not too big to affect the work. It would be important if President Smedley said something about it, but that has not happened. We only hear bits and pieces from people on the street or members. I am safe and I know that Heavenly Father will keep all of His missionaries safe.
So this last Sunday in sacrament meeting the branch president forget about the two confirmations that were supposed to happen. So they will happen next week, and I will still be doing one of them. We have been putting a focus on getting new investigators this past week. It comes slow, but in the end there is always someone that wants to learn. Right now we have an investigator that we met in mid-January. His name is Peak (Pae-ek) He has set a goal to finish the Book of Mormon before he gets baptized this month on the 27th. He will make it easily. He is what you would call a golden investigator. It is looking to be like he will be the first baptism for me. You are lucky to get a baptism in your first area most missionaries say. I just hope he continues to grow as he has been doing.
As for me I am doing just fine. I'm in good spirits. With more bike problems every week, you find a way to laugh at these things. My companion Elder Thompson is way fun. Me and him are so alike. We have not even argued. That must be a surprise for all of you to hear. I'm not the easiest to get along with either. Well I think that about does it for this week. I just want to thank you all for everything that you all do for me. Keep me posted on all the sweet stuff that goes on in each of your lives. I love you all so much.
Love Elder Nordgren
